This letter gives us another secret to growth and change to those of us who are feeling a little bit complacent. Maybe we feel a little more bored than blessed when we connect with church … Perhaps we feel a lot more attached to this world than we’d like - (who doesn’t struggle with that?) and looking us straight in the eye Jesus says - “I want you to see your need as you never have before. Then I’d be able to meet your need as I never have before.” John writes this way to the church in Laodicea - “To the angel of the church of Laodicea write, ‘These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds that you’re neither cold nor hot … I wish that you were one or the other … But you don’t realise you’re wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you get from me gold refined in the fire so you can become rich and white clothes to wear so you can cover your shameful nakedness salve to put on your eyes so you can see.” (Revelation 3:14 ff) Not easy words from Jesus but they end with his remarkable promise - “Look! I am standing at the door and I'm constantly knocking. If anyone opens the door I will come in and I’ll fellowship with him; I’ll relate to him, I’ll dine with him and he’ll fellowship with me.” (Revelation 3:20 – Message)

My father is a farmer. Growing up on the farm, I often witnessed seed time and harvest time first hand. I would go with my father and watch him prepare the fields months before he even sowed a single seed. Hours upon hours and days upon days he would work the ground, putting in various substances to put nutrients back into the ground depleted by previous seasons. I saw my father labour over the ground until he finally planted the seed.

Friday Apr 01, 2016
Much around us is changing all the time. Politics changes, leaders change, technology changes. In fact more changes have happened in the last 100 years, than have happened in all the time people have been on earth before that time. But there are some things that just haven’t changed. The needs of people haven’t changed at all.
When we think about Easter, think about the feelings the first friends and followers of Jesus must have had when they saw him put to death on the cross. Imagine their devastation, disillusionment, and disappointment. But also imagine the incredible joy. Imagine the surprise when just three days later, Jesus was raised back to life.
Listen now as Pastor Peter unpacks his thoughts.

Sunday 6th March 2016: Words of - Humanity - Peter Godwin
Thursday Mar 10, 2016
Thursday Mar 10, 2016
In his final moments on the cross, Jesus makes three statements. He’s been on the cross for about six hours, when he says - “I’m thirsty”. This is something we say too. Not everybody could say, “today you’re going to be with me in paradise”. But anybody could say - “I’m thirsty”.
It points to the human side of who Jesus is.
At the cross, we see Jesus for who he really is. He is truly human, absolutely one of us. His thirst points to his humanness. But Jesus is also “divine”. His response to his thirst and the actions of the Roman soldiers reveals him as God’s promised Saviour. Together they tell us just how much Jesus loves us.Listen now as Pastor Peter unpacks his thoughts.

Tuesday Feb 23, 2016
Tuesday Feb 23, 2016
The Bible tells us that the very essence of who God is - is ‘love’. So if people are ‘made in God’s image’, if our lives reflect even something of the character of God, then we’re made to ‘love’. The single most important lesson that we have to learn in life is learning to love like God loves us. In the lead up to Easter, we’re going to look at the last words of Jesus, from the cross; his words of love.

Sunday 21st February 2016: Words of - Assurance - Peter Godwin
Monday Feb 22, 2016
Monday Feb 22, 2016
People have many different views about how we’re ‘delivered’ from the plight humanity is in, and how we find ‘peace’. Some suggest rituals, individualism, suppressing desire, living a moral life, submission to law… At the heart of Christian faith is the declaration that our ‘salvation’ comes by God’s grace and our faith.
Today we’re looking at the exchange between Jesus and the men crucified beside him. In his last moment, one of the men trusts Jesus for his ‘salvation’ and receives this promise - “today you will be with me in paradise.”
Listen now as Pastor Peter unpacks his thoughts.

Conflict has always been part of the human
story. We can see it in Genesis, the
first book in the Bible. Everyone, in their
lifetime, will experience conflict, and our conflicts don’t always have a
predictable outcome. Sometimes
conflict brings out the worst in us and keeps us from living life the way God
intended. If we want to live the life and the
adventure that God has purposed for us, then we can’t be buried by
conflict.
This morning we’ll look at how we “make every effort
to live in peace”. Listen now as Pastor Peter unpacks his thoughts.

Sunday 24th January 2016: Adventure Series Part 1: Busyness - Peter Godwin
Thursday Feb 04, 2016

Let’s just admit it, that busyness and pace and rush
and activity and fatigue, are all enemies of our lives. Many of us pack more into our schedules, and
try to commit to more, than any previous generation, or culture. We’re obsessed with going faster. Busyness may make us look important, but it
cripples our relationships. Busyness may
feed our egos, but it starves our souls.
The beginning of a New Year is a great time to resolve to go deeper into God’s faith adventure for your life and be less busy on things that aren’t so important. Listen now as Peter unpacks his thoughts.
