This letter gives us another secret to growth and change to those of us who are feeling a little bit complacent. Maybe we feel a little more bored than blessed when we connect with church … Perhaps we feel a lot more attached to this world than we’d like - (who doesn’t struggle with that?) and looking us straight in the eye Jesus says - “I want you to see your need as you never have before. Then I’d be able to meet your need as I never have before.” John writes this way to the church in Laodicea - “To the angel of the church of Laodicea write, ‘These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds that you’re neither cold nor hot … I wish that you were one or the other … But you don’t realise you’re wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you get from me gold refined in the fire so you can become rich and white clothes to wear so you can cover your shameful nakedness salve to put on your eyes so you can see.” (Revelation 3:14 ff) Not easy words from Jesus but they end with his remarkable promise - “Look! I am standing at the door and I'm constantly knocking. If anyone opens the door I will come in and I’ll fellowship with him; I’ll relate to him, I’ll dine with him and he’ll fellowship with me.” (Revelation 3:20 – Message)

Financially Secure

Marriages and families these days are under pressure from all sides.
In our society, the idea of what a family actually is, is moving further and further away from God’s ideal. Divorce is at near record levels. In our fair city of Sydney, particularly here in the Eastern Suburbs, housing affordability is at an all-time low. And the consumer expectations of adults and children alike are skyrocketing. Listen now to hear Berni unpack this thought.

Growing In Compatibility
Wednesday Sep 30, 2015
Wednesday Sep 30, 2015
Love can only exist in relationships. That’s why God is a Trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
God can’t be love if God can’t live love, and express love, so God is a relationship - three in one.
God teaches us to love in our relationships - love your “neighbour”, and love “one another”, he says. And in marriage, God takes that loving “to the max!!” Two become one.

Resolving Conflict in Your Family
Wednesday Sep 30, 2015
Wednesday Sep 30, 2015
Whenever you put imperfect people in close proximity to one another, there is going to be conflict. It’s just the way it is. The more confined the space, the more we rub up against one another.
And all that “rubbing up against one another” is going to create friction … and just when that’s happening, someone in that mix decides to through some petrol at the problem and then … WHOOF!
There’s a fire raging … and nobody’s quite sure how to put it out.

Some Tools & Tips For A Satisfying Marriage
Wednesday Sep 30, 2015
Wednesday Sep 30, 2015
God's ideal for our relationships, whether we're married or not, is harmony, intimacy (love) and unity (one mind). The reality is that a lot of the relationships around us, and sometimes our own, are full of disharmony, conflict and disappointment.
Of course, good relationships, and good marriages don't just happen. They take energy and effort to make them work.

A Healthy Family
Friday May 15, 2015
Friday May 15, 2015
If you were asked the question “What creates a healthy family?” how would you respond?
I perceive that there are two main creators of healthy families. Firstly correct biblical priorities and secondly the maintenance of unity.
Because society in general does not recognize scriptural priorities, families suffer and social cohesion is fragmented. Consequently crime & poverty and the cost of social services increase. Listen now to hear Richard unpack this thought.

Family: What's Your Status?
Friday May 08, 2015
Friday May 08, 2015
It doesn't matter if we're married or not, the Bible says it's not good for us to be alone. Human beings were made for relationships. You and I were made for relationships. We need companionship. We need friendships. We need people to relate to. That's why the worst kind of punishment is called “solitary confinement”. Listen now to hear Pastor Peter unpack this thought.

They’re on TV all the time. The “DO IT YOURSELF” shows. The “REALITY” shows. They’re all about renovation, improvement and make-over. Sometimes they’re about a home, or a building project and sometimes they’re about people and their lives; sometimes both.
Today we’re starting a new series called “Home Improvement”. It’s about some of the relationships and issues we find in our homes, and how with God, we can “improve” them...
Listen now to hear Pastor Peter unpack this thought...

You're About to Come Alive
Monday Apr 13, 2015
Monday Apr 13, 2015
It was such a strange thing for Jesus to say, just before he was crucified - “… I am alive, and you’re about to come alive.” But really, that’s what Easter is all about - “coming alive”. Jesus proved He was who He’d claimed to be, by coming alive. And we can be who God wants us to be, by “coming alive” this Easter.
Listen as Pastor Peter tells us how we can accept the gift God has given us and come alive in Christ!

Why is Easter So Important?
Tuesday Mar 24, 2015
Tuesday Mar 24, 2015
Listen as Pastor Pete shares some GOOD NEWS that we can use. Surveys tells us that huge numbers of people around the world accept the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a historical fact. So what? Big deal! Jesus was who He said He was. But it is a big deal. When Jesus Christ rose from the grave after being dead for three days, it did two things: It proved who Jesus was, and it validated what He taught. He was God. Does that make a difference - you bet it does! It means that God made us for a purpose, it means that we can know God personally, that we can be forgiven and live in a “forever” relationship with God. That’s why Easter is so important.

Hello Stranger?
Monday Mar 23, 2015
Monday Mar 23, 2015
In Acts 2, on the day of Pentecost, we read how, “Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a mighty wind came from heaven & filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated & came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit & began to speak in tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” Did the apostles recognize this experience as something strange, ethereal or other worldly? Or was there a deeply personal element to it which overwhelmingly identified it as being related to experiences with someone they had already met? Who is this Holy Spirit? He is no stranger. He is our friend & more. Listen as Richard Wills looks at who the Word says the Holy Spirit is.
